36 cal. POSTLEY & NELSON Pittsburgh Pa.1800's DST & Patch

For sale is a half stock Antique eastern style 36 caliber Percussion Rifle (this rifle probably started life as a full stock). The wood is a reddish brown and is aged to a uniform color and is full of marvelous old repairs using pieces of brass plate (some formed in compound curves).
The stock has a three piece patch box in good functional condition, with "Patented Mar 1st 1870" etched on the lid.
The gun is 51" over all length with a 38" octagon barrel stamped POSTLEY & NELSON at the muzzle.
There is a fixed rear sight and a blade front sight. The trigger and lock function as they should. The lock is stamped Goulcher.
The lock functions as it should, the bore is clear and the double set triggers have a very hair trigger.
