This listing is for a Colt Model 1894 US Army Double Action “DA” 38 S&W Long Caliber Revolver Serial Number 4136 Manufactured in 1892.
This revolver is was likely a Model 1892 modified by Colt in 1894 to the newer Model Specifications making it not able to fire with the Cylinder Latch not closed, at that time they re stamped the model.
FEATURES: 6" Barrel, 6 round cylinder, Serials Matching as shown, Correct RAC Inspector Stamps, and Wood Grips. CONDITION: VG overall for the year showing normal wear and signs of use.
The metal finish matches throughout the revolver. The wood grips have RAC stampings on both panels with a piece missing out of the Left Panel..both fit tightly to the revolver.
The cylinder is not serialized and has RAC Markings likely changed to the new style in 1894, there is some play in it. The revolver does function properly.
