Up for sale is an antique Springfield marked percussion fowler conversion in about .65 caliber. Smoothbore barrel measures 38 ¼" to the nipple with a dark, rusted, pitted and heavily frosted bore. Metal surfaces are dark brown patina with scratches, dings and pitting and the markings on the lock are heavily worn.
Fowler is sighted with a small, rough, replacement front blade and a crudely made notched leaf rear.
Lock is 1861 dated but the “Federal Eagle” is also entirely gone and the “US Springfield” is heavily worn.
