You are viewing an Original, Antique Ames 1845 Mexican War Era 54 Caliber Percussion Single Shot Pistol. This Ames Box Lock Naval Pistol measures 12″ overall and is in Very Good condition. All markings are present. Bore and actions are fine. Lock has nice Ames markings and USN 1845. Barrel is marked USN 1845 and inspected RP P. Metal has light peppering but better then most. Stock is fine showing period use and a light inspectors cartouche is visable. Made in 1845
